This Privacy Policy explains how Onside collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the app and related services.
Onside is a social network for amateur football players — find players nearby, build teams, organize matches, and track ratings. Depending on how you use the app, we may process account data, profile information, location, and usage analytics.
1. Data We Collect
We collect account data (such as email, name, and profile details), optional player attributes (position, level, photo), approximate location to find nearby players and matches, match results and statistics, device and usage data, and any content you create (team profiles, chat messages, lineup configurations).
2. How We Use Data
We use your data to provide app features: matching with nearby players, team and match management, ELO rating calculation, notifications, customer support, fraud and security monitoring, and service quality improvements.
3. Location Data
If you grant location permission, we use your approximate location to surface nearby players, fields, and matches. You can revoke this permission in your device settings at any time without losing access to the rest of the app.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
Profile information you choose to make public (name, photo, position, rating, match history) is visible to other players. We do not sell personal data. We share data only with infrastructure providers under contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations.
5. Storage and Retention
Account and profile data are retained while your account is active. Match history and rating data may be retained in anonymized form for ranking integrity. Deleted account data is removed during the standard backup cleanup window.
6. Account Deletion and Your Rights
You can permanently delete your account directly in the app from Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You may also contact support for any privacy-related request.
7. Data Protection
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and internal security procedures to protect user data.
